ESCAPE PROTOCOL

ESCAPE PROTOCOL

i like to think of this as a 30-second film, only about 7 seconds of which include any actual moving images.

it’s a glimpse into a storyline i’ve had going on in my own world for some time where i’ve been training the featured AI droid to do stuff like dance. here is further evidence of such activities:

so in escape_protocol, the droid (who has had various names, none of which are fit to print,) has apparently initiated an escape attempt. we catch up to the scene a bit late, like a police pursuit on KTLA. and it’s not long before the synthetically intelligent protagonist hits an obstacle, the results of which, while not being shown, are certainly palpable through sound.

we then hear chatter which could indicate that this whole exercise was anticipated and planned from the get go. nobody seems too alarmed.

we even hear the cleanup crew pull up at the end.

so yeah that’s all neat and everything. this was just an experiment with motion capture and applying it to rigged 3D characters. i’ve got some ideas about this guy talking to his boss, which is a big mainframe AI ball with no sense of humour. won’t that be neat? i think so.
